I am currently working from a homebased studio located in Columbus, Ohio and enjoying anything that brings me in contact with animals and spending time with my husband Chuck and our 6 boys Devin, Derek, Sagan, Benji, Eli & Jaiden. Trips to the zoo, horse/dog shows and expos allow us the opportunity to share our love of animals with our family. At present, I have the privilage of sharing my home with a very mischievous collie we call Zeus or Zeusifer :), a great pyrenees named Pandora (Dora for short), and very soon a Gorgeous GSD puppy from Genesis Longcoat German Shepherds named Pharaoh!!!
I started seriously drawing around 11 years old. I have been learning and picking up new techniques ever since.
I studied foundation classes briefly at The Art Academy of Cincinnati as well as OSU, but consider myself to be primarily a self taught artist. The classes I found myself in helped to reinforce what I had already taught myself previously as well as added a few tips and useful tidbits. But, I found that most of my "formal" art instructors were trying to push me towards abstract art expression, which is something that I just don't feel connected to. So, I chose to persue my art education on my own.
At present, my work is centering around pet portraits as well as equine artwork. I am also exploring work with polymer clay.
I am a member of The Equine Art Guild as well as the League of Animal Artists and soon to be listed with The AKC Museum of the Dog Artist Registry. My work hangs in private collections across the country. I was also very honored to have participated in The Trail of Painted Ponies project in New Mexico in 2002 and Arizona in 2004.
Hope you enjoy my work!
